Don’t give up! If someone has told you more than once you have something special, you do! Plus, everyone does. Go back to these bosses and ask them what they saw in you.

Find the book Strenghts Finder 2.0 and do the test at the end. Then focus on your strengths, not on your weaknesses.

Set some goals for yourself and work toward them every day. Create a vision map. I wrote about this. Look at it every day. Work toward it.

Think about what you feel passionate about. What you are good at…do these things. Look for jobs that allow you to express who you are.

And know that most young people struggle to find themselves in their early years in college and right after college. This is not unusual. You are not strange or different. And you will find yourself.

Hi,
Am Andrew Im a student at the university of johannesburg, Ive been having changes emotionally i feel like am approaching my trueself sometimes but i end up in failer. First of all am not happy! Am not happy with how I live, How most people treat me and afraid of such kind of unhappiness is bring me to the dead end of my existance.
I feel like am tryin but how can you try to work through life with unhappiness. I sometimes wish I cud be the only living being in this universe with resources avaliable for my exploration of my true talent. Ive worked on to jobs already ever since i graduated from high school an both management from this jobs say i have something special but I jst cant figure what exactly do they see that I dont.
When I take a page and try to explain myself all I can think of is Error(I.e nothin to say much about myself except basic external things like my achievement)
Am confused about myself!
Help pls

Ronald,
How honest…self-satisfaction and self-actualization. This takes me back a bit to my last post. We are pushed to grow and to move forward. We do what we do almost because we must, no? I write what I write because I feel a sense of purpose and a desire to help others–to inspire them to create and to fulfill their purpose and achieve results. Underneath it all, though, I write because I want to. I write because it fulfill me. I write because I know something and I have the need to say what I know. In doing so, I share it.

Maybe that is God or a higher Source pushing us to share…Pushing us to do for more than ourselves, to be less self-absorbed. But even when we share, give, in the end we feel better, we receive. It can become about us.

OMG!!! That could have been written by me. Indeed, I have written (and said) something very similar to that for many years.

You concluded with:
“What about you? What’s the real purpose behind what you do?”

For most of my adult life, my answer had been that I do for others (in career life, personally, and in volunteerism activities) because I desired to have a positive and lasting effect upon those around me and upon the community in order to make it a better place for future generations. Nowadays, my answer is The purpose of what I do is to provide myself with self-satisfaction in and of itself. Self-actualization might be the appropriate term.

Nina, I feel exactly the same way. I’m not even trying to grow and I’m being stretched so incredibly beyond my greatest beyond…..Circles are popping up and women are growing within them and I’m facilitating and figuring out how to create this business one step ahead of their needs and everyone’s feeling hopeful. Gevalt! It’s a wild, roller-coaster ride and I’m loving it and wondering what’s next. Just smiling, breathing deeply (mostly), staying present, trusting, living faith. These are the only things I know how to do with surety.

I’m not sure I know what you mean, Bro John. Candles can’t be evil or do as you say. You can say prayers when you light them. On Shabbat, we are told that when we light them the Shechinah joins us. Right before Shabbat begins, before we light them, it is an auspicious time to say a prayer for help. After that you can’t ask for help. On any other day, you can. Nina
